ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the Part I of the program requires Officers to provide a copy of their ECCC-RC Stage IV (General Engineering) Completion Certificate in addition to a transcript showing proof of having completed a Bachelors degree. Officers who do not have a background in engineering may be required to take part or all of a 5-credit hour bridging sequence, also provided by the Geological Engineering Department at the same tuition rate.

BRIDGING COURSES

Once admitted to the Certificate Program, Officers without an engineering background may be required to complete 3 credit hours of online course work in Statics and Mechanics of Geological Materials.  Officers without engineering or science courses may be asked to or elect to take a 2 credit hour math course that introduces/refreshes the concepts of the trigonometry, algebra, and calculus relevant to the further courses that they will be taking.

NOTE:  A GRE score is not required for admittance into the Certificate program, and successful completion of the Certificate program with grades of "B" or better guarantees acceptance into the MS program, also without the need for a GRE score.
